DESTINATION YACHT WEDDING IN GREECE

Deciding on a wedding location is hard. There are so many to choose from! But what if you could have your wedding at sea? That’s right, destination weddings are no longer confined to one place or country. A yacht wedding can be done anywhere in the world.

Destination weddings offer unique and unforgettable experiences and they often provide a romantic backdrop for your wedding. If you’re considering a destination yacht wedding in Greece, here are some tips and ideas to help you plan for this once-in-a-lifetime event. The best way to get started is to choose the right yacht that will suit all of your needs. The next step is to contact the local authorities to obtain all necessary permits. Then, you need to know that a skipper (the captain) can sign a marriage certificate.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT YACHT

Choosing the right yacht for your wedding is an important decision. There are many factors to consider, including size, amenities, and how it will accommodate your guests.

Yachts can be as small as 40 feet or as large as 350 feet with occupants numbering from 10 to 100. The length of your ceremony or reception will determine which type of yacht you'll need. A shorter ceremony is best suited for a smaller boat but a longer one may require a larger one to accommodate all of your guests.

Irina and Vlad had a small ceremony and reception so they chose to rent two small catamarans. Other friends joined the party with three small sailing vessels. All the boats left Athens and stopped for one night in Perdika, a small village located on Aegina Island, very close to Moni Island Golf… the place they both agreed would fit their needs: a safe golf to anchor overnight, a place where you don’t mind if the music is too loud or people too noisy and close to the restaurant that will provide the best greek food for their reception. They chose to work with Remetzo, the best restaurant in Perdika. The food was delivered by water taxi right on time!

GETTING PERMITS

One of the most important parts of planning your destination yacht wedding is to make sure you have obtained all the necessary permits. This is usually done by contacting the local authorities. They will handle all the necessary paperwork for you and ensure that everything is taken care of before your big day arrives.

If you are looking for a true escape from the day-to-day, you need to start planning your destination yacht wedding in Greece! The right yacht, the right wedding photographer and the right permits are all key to pulling off this dream wedding. Once you have all the info you need, you can make an informed decision about what kind of wedding you want to have.
